KMOX News reports on a shocking discovery that stemmed from the story of Zella Jackson Price. In 1965, Zella gave birth to a girl, two months early, at Homer G. Phillips Hospital in St. Louis, a hospital renowned for training the highest number of African American doctors and nurses in the world. Hours after her daughter was born, Zella was told her daughter had died, but was never given a birth certificate and never saw her body.

Fifty years later, Zella’s daughter has resurfaced, having been in foster care, and has reunited with her mom. Homer G. Phillips Hospital is being questioned in this and up to 143 other phone calls and written requests have come into the St. Louis mayor’s office. The FBI has a human trafficking unit committed to the case as well. Questioning parents want to know if they possibly have a child out there somewhere.
