I-70 Crash Kills Pedestrian
It can be difficult to navigate the road as a pedestrian. On an interstate, in the dark, a pedestrian may be in a dangerous situation, possibly making their walk deadly. This is what happened on Saturday, October, 24 on I-70.
St. Louis Today reported on October 26 that a man, who was not identified, was walking west in the eastbound lanes of I-70 when he was hit by a car that left the scene. Though it was originally thought that he was thrown from a vehicle, authorities have concluded that he was a victim of a hit and run.
Police say that a second car driven by a 30 year old woman ran over the man, lying on the road, but she stopped after she ran over him. She was then rear ended by another car, which sent her car into one ahead of her. A fifth car pulled off the side of the highway and got out, trying to help the man in the road. That car was damaged by another car when it was sideswiped, who also left the scene.
The crash happened at 1:30 am and closed down I-70 on Saturday, giving police an opportunity to investigate the crash.
