Icy Roads Lead to More St. Louis Crashes Due to Driver Negligence
The arrival of winter always results in more crashes in St. Louis. Some of these crashes can be avoided, while others are completely due to the dangerous road conditions. One such crash happened recently on a busy highway in northern central Missouri, according to an article on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website.
The article states that the roads were covered with ice. One driver was driving a pickup truck when it slid into the path of an oncoming SUV. The pickup truck driver died at the scene of the crash, and the SUV driver died at the hospital later on. The crash is still being investigated.
As your St. Louis auto accident attorney, it’s hard not to notice a pattern that occurs every year when winter weather arrives. Automobile drivers tend to not take into account the changes that should be occurring in the way they drive. They tend to continue going the speed limit or even a few miles over, regardless of what the weather is like outside. Icy roads are not always easy to identify, especially in instances of black ice. Failure to pay attention to road and weather conditions leads to accidents.
