Currently, under Missouri State law, it's illegal to have a camera in a nursing home resident's room. But proponents of the proposed bills state that something needs be done to change that. One bill would allow the nursing home to make the decision regarding cameras. The other allows the resident to make the decision.

Having a camera installed in her husband's room could have alerted his family to the abuse and allowed them to intervene much faster.
