Day Care Provider Charged in Death of Toddler

In September 2009, an eighteen-month-old toddler passed away after spending time in the care of his day care provider. The day care provider, a forty-year-old woman from the Wentzville area, allegedly hit the little boy in the head repeatedly. This was the type of punishment the provider used, and according to an article on the KMOV.com website, the woman is currently being held on felony charges for child abuse.

As your St. Louis personal injury attorney, we want you to know that we take accusations of child abuse very seriously. As a parent, you have to work to provide for your family. You entrust your young children into the care of a babysitter or day care service believing that your kids will be properly cared for. Unfortunately, all too often, children do end up injured or even killed at the hands of their child care providers, just as this little boy was killed.

If you believe your children have suffered from an injury because of the negligence of your family’s child care provider, or if you’re concerned that there your children are being abused, it’s important to discontinue working with that provider immediately. Call the police, and then contact a St. Louis personal injury attorney. It’s important for you to understand your rights in this situation, and an attorney will fight hard for the compensation you deserve.
