Generator Recalls for Two Products Announced in November
The use of generators has been in the news recently with all of the power outages on the east coast that resulted from Hurricane Sandy’s devastation. We certainly aren’t strangers to rough weather in Missouri, so purchasing a generator may very well have crossed your mind in order to keep your home powered in the event of an outage. If you are considering purchasing or have recently purchased a generator you need to be aware that there have been two recalls announced by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The Powermate Sx 5500 portable generator sold exclusively at Home Depot in the Midwest between February and August of 2012 has been recalled for a leaking fuel filter that poses a fire hazard. The other generator, the Honda EU 2000i, is being recalled for a leaky fuel hose which also poses a fire hazard. If you have purchased either one of these products the Law Firm of Hoffman & Gelfman urges you to refrain from using this product and to contact the place of purchase immediately.
Generators can be a fantastic piece of equipment to have around when they work properly but a faulty generator can pose a serious risk to your family and home. If you or a family member has been injured by a poorly functioning product contact one of our personal injury attorneys to find out what course of action you can take to recover damages.
