Man Hit by SUV in Home Dies
A Godfrey man was hit by an SUV that crashed into his home Sunday January 13, 2013. The accident left him pinned under the vehicle and debris. According to a St. Louis Post-Dispatch report published on January 14, 2013 the man was found dead on the scene later after police kept sifting through the wreckage. The driver of the SUV left the scene and was found later outside of a local bar and taken into custody. Apparently the driver took keys from a relative after an argument and drove off from a home close by.
There have been several complaints about the driving in the neighborhood. There have been many reports of speeding through this part of Godfrey and issues where drivers fail to navigate turns properly and hit parked cars.
