Stray Bullet Hits Woman in the Cheek on the 4th of July

Imagine sitting around enjoying a nice 4th of July barbeque with your family. Your children are there, your grandchildren are there. It’s a wonderful occasion, full of celebration. Suddenly, you’re struck by an object and it feels as though someone has hit you in the face with a bat. A trip to the local ER reveals that you’ve been hit by a stray bullet.

This is exactly what happened to one sixty-one-year-old Fenton woman on the 4th of July this year. Fortunately, no one else was hurt by the bullet, which just missed hitting the woman’s three-year-old granddaughter, who had been sitting on her lap.

As your St. Louis personal injury attorney, we want to remind you to use extra caution when you’re celebrating with your family and friends this summer. Even though the 4th of July is behind us, people still set off fireworks and participate in other dangerous activities all summer long. Guns that are fired into the air have bullets that have to come down eventually. When they do, they can often cause injuries.

In this case, the woman was treated for her injuries at a local hospital. However, her situation could have ended up much worse. If you suffer from an injury this summer, please contact a St. Louis personal injury attorney right away to discuss the details surrounding your case.
