Tractor Trailer Strikes Two State Police Cars in St. Louis County

Many drivers become nervous when they encounter tractor trailers on the road, and for good reason. These vehicles can be unpredictable, and they frequently cause accidents. According to the Fox2News website, one recent accident involved two state police patrol vehicles in St. Louis County.

The crash took place on a Sunday morning on Interstate 270 in St. Louis County, where there were two patrol cars parked on the side of the highway. The tractor trailer approached them and authorities say that the driver lost control. He struck both patrol cars before overturning.

Both of the officers were injured as a result of the accident and the patrol cars were totaled. The truck driver was also injured. None of them sustained life threatening injuries, but they were transported to area hospitals for immediate medical attention.

At the time of the article, it was unknown what types of legal charges the truck driver might face because the cause of the accident was still under investigation. It could have been a number of things, including impaired driving, distracted driving, or simply falling asleep at the wheel.
