Woman Files Nursing Home Neglect Lawsuit After the Death of Her Mother

Nursing home neglect has been a serious problem for a very long time. Every year, many families suffer knowing that their loved ones are being mistreated in nursing homes, but they don’t realize there’s more they can do about it than just reporting it to supervisors.

For example, a recent case of nursing home neglect was reported on the Opposing Views website. The article depicts video footage from a hidden camera that was installed in an elderly woman’s room by her daughter. The daughter stated that her mother was supposed to be repositioned every two hours, but that never occurred. The result was countless bedsores, which led to serious injuries to her foot and back.

When bedsores are left untreated, the result can be devastating. They can lead to many health complications, such as gangrene, cellulitis and infections. After her mother’s death, the daughter filed a lawsuit against the nursing home for neglect.
