Restaurant Owner Kidnapped and Robbed
The owner of Uncle Bill’s Pancake and Dinner House was taken from the restaurant’s Manchester location after closing on September 9.2012. Two men attacked him with pepper spray and then forced him into his car. They later disabled his cell phone, took his car keys and stole $5,000 in cash and left him at the corner of Kings Highway and Shaw Avenue in St. Louis. The restaurant owner called his wife and police from a borrowed cell phone.
The restaurant has been in operation for over twenty years. There is a suspicion that the robbers were aware of the usual schedule kept by the owner when he collects the weekend receipts. Crimes like this are especially dangerous – Mr. Lee, the restaurant owner, is 75 years old and the terror he felt could have had dire consequences.
