Wrong Way Driver Dies in St. Louis Accident
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch has reported that a man who was driving the wrong way on Interstate 55 near Sidney Street was killed after his car collided with another vehicle in an accident on. The driver had been traveling southbound on I-55 on February 24 before entering the northbound lanes and striking the other vehicle.
The vehicle the driven by the now deceased man caught fire due to the collision and the other driver involved was taken to the hospital for treatment of leg injuries. Officers are continuing to investigate the accident but at this point there is not much evidence as to why this happened.
It is certainly fortunate that the fire did not cause more harm and that only two vehicles were involved in this accident. Witnesses to these kinds of accidents can be shaken up, sometimes traumatically, and they can be within their rights to receive compensation for this trauma. Luckily there seems to be no other witnesses other than the driver in the hospital.
