Pedestrian Killed in Hit and Run

Traffic accidents happen every day. Unfortunately, many people are injured or killed in accidents. A pedestrian has no defense when they are hit by a car. St. Louis Post Dispatch reports that Robert Killian, 26, was struck by a vehicle on Wednesday night. Killian was crossing a road at a crosswalk, by Townsend Elementary School. in St. Louis County near his house when a vehicle struck him. Killian was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after arriving. Police say the area was not well lit and Killian was wearing jeans and a black coat.

The vehicle that hit and killed Killian was a dark sport utility vehicle according to witnesses. It had rust by the rear passenger side wheel well. The driver is unknown at this time because after hitting Killian, they did a U-turn and fled the scene.

St. Louis County Police Department has their Bureau of Crimes Against Persons investigating the accident. They are asking for anyone who knows anything to call the department.
