Research Shows Drunk Driving Accidents Are On The Decline

Drunk driving accidents have been declining in numbers, according to a recent article on the St. Louis Post-Dispatch website. However, now that New Year’s Eve has passed, we’re still waiting on the numbers to come out that will let us know how many accidents occurred on one of the biggest drinking and partying days of the year.

If you were driving around St. Louis on New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day, you probably saw more than one police checkpoint. These checkpoints are one of the keys in the fight against drunk driving. Even so, accidents do still happen.

Police indicate that the time between 6:00 pm on December 31 and 6:00 am on January 1 tend to be the most critical twelve hours for them all year. On average, there have been about 42 accidents a year that occur within this time frame.

As your St. Louis personal injury attorney, we are hoping that the decline we’ve seen in recent months will have continued throughout the New Year holiday. Drunk driving accidents are devastating, and they bring a tremendous amount of pain to families.

If you or someone you love was injured in an accident on New Year’s Eve, or any other time, you need the help of a St. Louis personal injury attorney who can get you the compensation you deserve.
