St. Louis Man Sentenced in Fatal Drunken Driving Incident

The St. Louis Post Dispatch has reported that Hai Minh Pham has been sentenced to five years imprisonment for causing the crash that took the life of John Casalone, aged 51, in October of last year. The defendant was at a birthday party for a coworker that night and entered the wrong lane of Interstate 55 when going home before striking Mr. Casalone’s car head on. Police administered tests that showed his blood alcohol level to be .198, well over the .08 limit.

The defendant had entered a guilty plea last May and the article states that his family was willing to accept any sentence from the court for this terrible incident. Families from both sides are feeling emotional consequences for this mistake and for many of them life will never be the same.
