On Monday, a 3-year old boy was at home when he was shot and fatally wounded by a 15-year old boy. The incident occurred in north St. Louis County on Emerald Creek Drive. When police were dispatched to the house, they found Xzavier Robinson, 3, with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where they pronounced him dead.
There were many people in the home at the time of the shooting who witnessed the incident. Xzavier’s dad, Shawmane Robinson, was sleeping when the shooting occurred. He did not hear gunfire and had no idea what happened until family came in the room to tell him Xzavier had been shot.
The shooter is a 15-year old family friend. He turned himself in to police later that day. The police have not yet recovered the weapon and family believes it was a tragic accident.
