Man Gets Charged After January Accident
We may have no control over some things that can happen in our life, but we can decide to live so that we leave a legacy for those who know us, no matter how old we are when we die. That’s exactly what 26 year old Collin Loveless did.
On January 10, 53 year old James E. Hughes of Richmond Heights entered I-170 southbound at 2:40 am driving the wrong way. He had no headlights on and he crossed over three lanes of traffic when he struck Collin’s Honda sedan. Hughes was injured. Collin died at the scene.
On June 17, James Hughes was charged with first-degree involuntary manslaughter as well as driving with a revoked license. That night, he had a blood alcohol test that came back at 0.197 percent, more than twice the legal limit. This capped his already long criminal history.
Collin left a legacy of love. His pastor spoke kindly about him, telling about how he enjoyed working at the church. He had two children, ages 6 and 4. His mother tells about how much he desired to do God’s work. Even a friend he had just met that night tells about how much compassion and perseverance Collin had.
A man who died too young but left a powerful legacy.
