Four Injured in Crash Involving a Semi Truck and Ambulance

An ambulance that was moving toward a ramp was rear ended by a semi- tractor trailer on Interstate 55 near Hamel Illinois. The ambulance was on the highway to answer an emergency call from a rest stop when it started to turn right from the right hand lane. The only place to turn off was a one way ramp leading toward the highway. The truck hit the ambulance and four occupants were taken to the hospital.

This accident occurred while both vehicles contained people who were working so the majority of medical care required may come under worker’s compensation coverage. That doesn’t necessarily mean though that other compensation for the injuries will not be possible. Injured workers may very well still be eligible for additional compensation depending on the circumstances of the accident.

If you have been injured at work and are not being treated properly by your employer’s workmen’s compensation carrier you should contact the work injury attorneys at Hoffman & Gelfman.
